We had a wonderful day with the boys today! We took the boys to see the movie Hop in preparation for our visit with the Easter Bunny. After the movie, we headed over to see the 'real' Easter Bunny. The boys were so excited and had already decided where they were going to sit well before we arrived at the bunny. Andrew was going to be on his lap, Wesley was going to sit on the side and Jared was going to sit on the 'other side' (just like last year).
As we arrived at the bunny, they were excited in line and then it was our turn. Andrew rushed over to the Easter Bunny, gave him a high five and willingly sat on his lap. Jared and Wes were no longer excited about seeing the Easter Bunny. We were lucky that there was no line behind us because it took the boys about 5-10 minutes to warm up to the Bunny. After some negotiations which resulted in Jared being promised that he could play with 'Mommy's phone' and Wes being promised cake (I don't know where I got that idea but it worked), they were willing to sit with the Bunny... and, we got a great photo! Andrew was so patient and he sat for the entire duration of the negotiations on the lap of the Easter Bunny. Then, he ends up having his tongue sticking out in the best photo, go figure.
After the Easter Bunny, we took the boys out to lunch at the Village Inn. After lunch, they were able to have some pie, which was Wes' cake reward. Once we returned home, it was too late for nap. We skipped nap and relaxed watching some TV. This lasted a short time before the boys could no longer resist the temptation of the backyard and the kiddie pool still filled with water from yesterday. So, with very little rest, we headed outside to splash about in the pool. The boys had a great day but were very tired by the end of the day. Andrew didn't eat his dinner and half way through dinner, he asked to go to bed. Daddy took him to bed and he stayed. The other guys watched some of Cars, the movie and then headed off to bed. It was a long day but a fun day!
We are looking forward to our 3rd birthday on Tuesday and our party on Saturday.
Take care,
Wow, your boys are getting so big! I enjoyed reading about your visit with the Easter Bunny. Must be the age... the only way I could get one of mine to sit within picture distance of the bunny was to let him sit next to the bunny's candy basket :-). HAPPY BIRTHDAY BOYS!!! Looking forward to reading about your special day and party!
