It's Christmas Morning - 2009!

It's Christmas morning!!! Santa was here!! Come on boys, it's time to get up!!!

Jared and Wes were quick to rise at our scheduled 7:30am. Dressed in our traditional matching jammies, we all headed down stairs to wait for Andrew to wake-up. I have a feeling that this will probably be the last year than any of us are able to 'sleep in' on Christmas morning.
Jared and Wes were unaware that the new presents under the tree were left by the great "Dan-ta" for them! The sat right next to these gifts and played with some of their new toys while we all waited for Andrew to wake...
After waiting a little while, Jared started re-gifting many of the gifts opened last night. He can be seen here giving Daddy the digital frame (box) that we gave to Grandma last night...
Daddy and Jared check out the new spiral speedway. We are still waiting for Andrew! I got up to check on him but he is sleeping soundly. So, we wait!
Jared and Wes give Grandma a bow to wear and offer her some 'help' in the kitchen...
I enter the kitchen to also offer some help and Grandma informs me that she is hearing ticking in the wall. To appease her, I lean over to listen for the ticking. No ticking. I think this is moment that Grandma started to go a little coo-coo! Sure, we hear the ticking Grandma!!!
YIPEE!!!! It's almost 9am and Andrew FINALLY wakes up! It's about time!!
Our second annual Christmas morning picture in our matching jammies!! Daddy may not care too much for this tradition but this is our second year and I have loved each of the pictures! Guess what?!? We are doing it again next year!!!
I should point out Jared's new habit. He has become obsessed with lightly touching the tip of his lip. He does this frequently and we caught him in the act in this picture. I have even tried touching my own lip to see what he enjoys about it. It is an interesting feeling... give it a try!

The boys finally get to open up the gifts left by Santa Claus!! Check out the look on Wes' face. It's like he is saying to Andrew, "You wake up last and get to be the one to open the gift first?!? Are you kidding me?!?"...
The boys get a Mega Bloks city track set with cars...
Jared opens up some more Mega Bloks....
This last gift was a Mega Bloks train set! Yep, Santa knew we love playing with our Mega Bloks. Don't you just love Wes' drinking style? He has completely worn teeth holes into all of the sippy lids. I bet we will regret allowing this to occur when we visit a dentist...
By the end of the day, the boys had really grasped the concept of opening up gifts and boxes...
Jared can't quite figure out the train tracks. Maybe it is a necklace?!?...
We had finished opening up our gifts and Grandma told us that breakfast was ready. We all make our way to the kitchen. Jared was not ready to stop playing with his new toys so he dragged the city set and bubble blower into the kitchen and tried to set them on the table...
It was an amazing and fun Christmas morning!! It is wonderful to experience the holidays through the eyes of a toddler ... three toddlers!

Later today we are heading out to Pooka's for our Christmas dinner with family! It's going to be a very full day.

Take care,
